Treeby is a southern suburb of Perth, falling within the City of Cockburn local government area. It is named after early settlers of the area, Joseph and Emma Treeby. The suburb was created in 2016 from the northern portion of the suburb of Banjup (extending above Armadale Road).
The new area hives off a portion of land from the suburb of Banjup north of Armadale road and is named after Cockburn pioneers Joseph and Emma Treeby, who settled in the area and developed a vegetable garden in the 1890s.
Treeby is primarily a rural area, originally part of the Banjup locality. In recent years, an area previously mined for sand was developed into a new residential estate called Calleya.
